The RISM catalogues are arranged in four series. A summary is given below, but further information may be found on the RISM Central Office website.

A/I : printed music in scores or part-books each devoted to a single composer.

At present available in book form only, but due to be converted to electronic form shortly.

A/II - manuscript music dating from after 1600.

The international RISM A/II database has recently been made freely available at http://opac.rism.info. Data in the present UK and Ireland database is not yet included in the international database, but we hope it will be added shortly. We are intended to maintain the UK and Ireland database in parallel.

B : catalogues of various self-contained groups of material.

Available in book form.

C : a directory of music research libraries.

Available in book form. A list of libraries and their sigla may be downloaded from the RISM Central Office website (PDF, 1.19MB).
